The Icelandic Hemp Association

Hampfélagið is a pioneering organization dedicated to educating the public on the benefits and uses of hemp, promoting a more natural and sustainable future. Our mission, encapsulated in our initiative “Hampur fyrir framtíðina” (Hemp for the Future), reflects our commitment to these ideals.

Founded in 2019 by seasoned Icelandic hemp activists with over a decade of experience in the industry, Hampfélagið stands as Iceland’s first and only hemp association. Our organization draws inspiration from the rich history and vast potential of the hemp plant, aiming to share its benefits for a better, more sustainable world.

Since its establishment, Hampfélagið has been instrumental in expanding Iceland’s community of hemp educators, growers, enthusiasts, and advocates. We have actively worked to change legislation, collaborate with farmers, host educational courses, and introduce the Icelandic populace to this ancient and versatile plant.

Join us in exploring the many possibilities that hemp offers for our future.

The concept

We want to share with you the concept behind Hemp for the Future 2025, a conference that is evolving into something more than just a cannabis event—it is becoming a platform for access to nature, system synergy, and true sustainability.

We live in a world where access to nature is limited, whether we are healers, scientists, farmers, activists, or policy makers working within cannabis, psychedelics, hemp, or bee conservation. We believe that to build a truly sustainable future, we need to reconnect with nature, not only to heal ourselves but to reduce harm to our environment.

The conference will explore how cannabis, mushrooms, and the bees are all interconnected, how they support each other, and how these systems can teach us to collaborate with nature rather than dominate it. We see this as essential in harm reduction, both for individuals—through plant medicine, mental health, and community resilience—and for the planet, by creating regenerative ecosystems.

This is not just a conference; it will be an experience, combining education, inspiration, and community building. We aim to gather those who care about policy, science, regenerative farming, natural medicine, and the circular economy under one roof, to find real, practical pathways forward.

If you or your organization are aligned with this vision and wish to explore partnership, sponsorship, or participation, I would love to continue the conversation with you.
